It’s been a banner year for ridership for the King County Water Taxi and we reached a major milestone Wednesday night.
The system carried its 600,000th rider for 2016! According to crews, we hit the magic number during the West Seattle route’s outbound 4:45 p.m. sailing.
That means the Water Taxi has handily smashed its 2015 record of 515,207 boardings (a record we broke back in October) by more than 16 percent – and we still have two days of service left!
Thanks to everyone who rode this year – whether it was just for sightseeing or for your daily commute. We’re grateful for our loyal customers and glad to provide you with top-notch, dependable service.
No service New Year’s Day
As we flip over the calendar for January, a quick reminder that the Vashon and West Seattle routes of the King County Water Taxi will not be in service on Monday, Jan. 2, the observed New Year’s Day holiday.
See you again starting Tuesday and Happy New Year!
Best commute ever!!
