July 4th Water Taxi service: West Seattle on Sunday schedule; No service for Vashon

The Doc Maynard at Pier 50 in Seattle.Did you know that there are some 14,000 Independence Day fireworks celebrations annually across America?

If you plan to reach any of those via the King County Water Taxi on Tuesday, July 4, remember that we will operate on a Sunday schedule for the West Seattle route, with the last sailing departing from Seacrest Dock at 8 p.m.

The Vashon route will not be in service Tuesday, July 4.

Wondering how you and your family will get back home after the fireworks Tuesday night since there will be no Water Taxi service? Don’t worry – Metro and Sound Transit will run extra late night service, and Link light rail will run an extra hour until 2 a.m.

Have a safe and happy Independence Day, everyone!
