Tent’s up! Escape the elements at Pier 52

No, seriously, we encourage to do so under our new canopy at Pier 52.

As we alluded to last week, King County Water Taxi users waiting for their West Seattle- and Bremerton-bound vessels are now protected from the elements thanks to our new covering.

The canopy was installed over the weekend. It is about 60 feet long and wide enough to cover all queuing lines closest to the gangway leading down to the vessels.

After seeing our “tent” at the pier and catching our pun-filled announcement on Instagram, a few @kcwatertaxi followers joined in on the puns:

Us: “Our intent is that #kcwatertaxi riders headed for #westseattle and #vashon will feel content and protected from the elements at our dock . That’s right – our canopy is up #puns”

opandsquash: “That’s some good content.”

colleenpacnw: “That’s intense.”

pinelakeclub: “Your ability to #pun is prepotent to anything I’ve ever seen!”

Well done, everyone. You earned a hearty “nyuck nyuck nyuck” from us.

  1. It’s ok for some – those that arrive about 30 minutes before boat departure. But with a long straight line of over 100 people out into the street – well they’re just going to get the full blast of the elements, right
