‘Seize the Bay’ and enjoy a day on the Water Taxi

Everyone has fun on the King County Water Taxi!

The back-to-school ads are out, sunset is before 9 p.m., and football season has started.

Fall is coming, but you can still enjoy a few more days of summer. A great way to do that is with a trip on the water with the King County Water Taxi.

Take an adventure over to West Seattle and spend the day bicycling, kayaking, playing volleyball and enjoying Alki Beach.

Or, take an early morning ride from Pier 50 to Vashon and spend a relaxing day going to the shops, enjoying lunch, and then sailing back to Seattle in the afternoon.

It’s all there for you to “Seize the Bay!”

Looking to enjoy Alki, have lunch in the Junction or stroll the downtown waterfront? Let us whisk you across Elliott Bay while you sit back, relax and enjoy the best views Seattle has to offer. Ride into the heart of West Seattle on Route 773 or take Route 775 to go along Alki and to the Admiral District.

The Mariners, Sounders, Reign and Seahawks are just a 15-minute ride away with the West Seattle Water Taxi, so take an opportunity to “sailgate” before the game. Heading to Husky stadium? Just jump on Link Light Rail to University of Washington station for kickoff.

You can even take your four-legged family members with you! Well-behaved dogs on leashes and cats in crates are allowed on Water Taxi.

There’s still plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine! Adult fares to West Seattle start at $5.75 one way ($5 with an ORCA card), and $6.75 to Vashon ($5.75 with an ORCA card). If you don’t have an ORCA Card yet, download the TransitGoTicket App on your mobile device for express boarding. And remember, riders 18 and younger can ride the Water Taxi (and most regional transit) for free.
