It has been a momentous year for King County Metro Marine Division, serving over 578,000 riders from the beginning of 2019 thorough the end of September, increasing ridership by 5.95% compared to last year.
Much of that ridership increase can be attributed to the Seattle Squeeze, but also due to the new passenger-only ferry terminal at Pier 50, which opened in August. We are proud of the new facility and the opportunity it offers to expand our congestion-free service in the future.
In September, we celebrated 10 years of water taxi service offered by King County and we look forward to another 10 years and many more in our new facility.
We also had a great year on the King County Water Taxi Instagram account. If you haven’t followed us yet, it’s a great way to see and share photos taken from our facilities and onboard our vessels. Give us a follow and take a look at some of our latest posts, featuring images taken by Water Taxi riders!
