Want to go to Strawberry Fest? Take the Water Taxi!

Heading to Vashon Island for Strawberry Fest? This year, you will have another option to get there – the Water Taxi!

The MV Sally Fox pulls out of the Vashon Island dock after picking up riders for a morning run.

King County Water Taxi will offer the first ever Saturday service on the Vashon Island route for the Vashon Island Strawberry Festival on Saturday, July 20th. Typically, the Water Taxi Vashon Island route is only available Monday – Friday.

This expanded service is only for Saturday, July 20th and should provide a convenient option to those looking for passenger only service from downtown Seattle. The Strawberry Festival is known throughout the region as a great event for families and wait times for ferries can be quite long. Having the Water Taxi as an option this year will help you get to Vashon Island and start enjoying the festival without having to travel to West Seattle, Southworth, or Tacoma.

  1. THANK YOU! More service between our island and downtown is exciting. Our residents visit the city just as much as the city visits us. Anything that could be done to add a regular weekend sailing or mid-day during the week would improve accessibility remove being “stuck in Seattle”, and could be a nice detour for folks only expecting to see West Seattle.

    THANK YOU!

  2. Thank you for weekend King County Water Taxi service! I ride the water taxi daily for communting to work. Our family and friends would often ride the water taxi to Seattle on weekends and I’m certain Seattle residents would regularly visit Vashon on weekends. This is a significant potential economic benefit for many small businesses, large businesses and event ticket sales in both Seattle and Vashon.

Thank You King County Water Taxi!
