Ride with PRIDE: Water Taxi joins in celebration of ‘Pride in Maritime’ Day

We are stronger together. We recognize and celebrate the diversity that makes King County Metro and the King County Water Taxi a special place to work.

Tuesday, Feb. 28, is Pride in Maritime Day, an opportunity to share and celebrate progress for the LGBTQIA+ community in the maritime sector.

“Our staff is a reflection of the community we live in, and we want to celebrate those who work with us in helping provide this vital transportation option,” said Water Taxi Director Terry Federer.

The West Seattle Water Taxi runs seven-days-a-week from approximately 6 a.m. weekdays (8:30 a.m. weekends) to 7 p.m. Weekday sailings, which provide a great view of the downtown Seattle waterfront and Alki, leave the dock every 35 minutes during peak commute hours and every hour during the mid-day, and on weekends.

The Vashon Water Taxi provides a 22-minute ride for commuters weekdays (Mon-Fri) from downtown to Vashon.
